Definition of Stack Frames
A stack frame is generally observed as a high level concept and allows easy access to arguments and local variables in a function, as well offering a structure with which to provide exception handling and much more. It all depends on the architecture and compiler. For instance, the JVM (Java Virtual Machine) architecture is a stack based architecture in which there are no registers as such, instead space inside a method's stack frame is used.
