MSNSecure - Introduction
This is actually an idea of Trons, he wanted me to write a tutorial on a cool project, and suggested this.
The plan is simple: Implement encryption into MSN. What type of encryption? Doesn't matter. I'll probably just make a simple system for switching algorithms.
Perhaps even make it support multiple different ones! :o
"My" (i.e. Trons) plan was to split this text in three parts ;)

Namely:
  1. Reversing MSNs I/O stuff, to find out where and how it fetches input, and shows output.
  2. Implementing hooks of their I/O functions, and encrypting any outgoing traffic, decrypting inbound. (Use a loader to inject a dll, and use the dll to hook stuff)
  3. Adding a tab to the settings-dialog, to allow configuration of stuff like who's encrypted, what algo to use, keys, or whatnot. :)

Other optional features:

Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3

I've chosen to upgrade my MSN Messenger to 7.0, so that I can get some help testing it. (Instead of my previous (ancient) 6.2)
So, that leaves the target as MSN Messenger 7.0. :-)
